A useful family meeting is not a performance review. It is a short logistics and connection reset that helps everyone understand the week before the week starts happening to them.
The four-part agenda
- What is happening this week?
- Where will we need help or a ride?
- What could make the week easier?
- What is one thing we want to enjoy together?
Keep it survivable
Set a 20-minute timer. Use a visible calendar. Let kids contribute at an age-appropriate level, and park arguments that need a separate conversation.
End with named owners and the next action. 'We need groceries' is vague. 'Dad orders groceries tonight' can actually happen.
