Give each kid ten minutes that belongs only to them

One-on-one attention without planning an expensive outing or finding an open Saturday.

Individual time matters, but it does not have to arrive as a major event. A dependable ten minutes can feel more personal than a complicated day that happens twice a year.

Let them choose the small thing

  • Take a short walk together.
  • Play one round of their game.
  • Sit on the edge of the bed and talk.
  • Make a snack together.
  • Let them show you something without checking your phone.

Protect the edges

Name the time clearly: 'These ten minutes are yours.' That sentence changes an ordinary moment into something they can feel.

Do not use the time to correct behavior, check grades or deliver an announcement. Connection works better when it is not a disguised meeting.
